She has so much to teach in regards to raw food, nutrition, love and living a blissfully beautiful, balanced life! I highly recommend watching some of her videos to hear (and physically see - she glows and radiates vibrancy!) what she has to offer. You can find her videos here: Dara Dubinet
A lot of what Dara talks about in the video deeply resonates with me, and I’m glad she posted this.
Last night I started watching Earthlings, and usually I can get through documentaries like that, but man.. the tears started flowing. Even though I follow a mostly raw-vegan diet (besides honey consumption, and on rare occasions I’ll have a piece of wild caught Alaskan salmon or local pastured eggs), I still think it’s important to watch stuff like that. Especially for people that are consuming meat, dairy and/or eggs. It really is sad (pathetic, really) that most people refuse to want to see what’s actually going on, or say they “already know”, but then continue to go to their regular grocery store because it’s convenient and cheap. I mean, seriously! I rarely consume any of the non-vegan things listed above and I still take the time to watch the documentaries and read the articles because no matter how “little” of a contribution I’m making, it’s still a contribution.
Take some responsibility!
kimchiiandtea asked: Yay! Thanks so much for following. I'll be sure to try& keep things interesting. Your blog is so inspiring! Thanks for that. You are a beautiful soul& you are also aesthetically pleasing. Sooo gorgeous! I am in the process of making the switch to vegan& maybe eventually raw vegan. I am also interested in yoga. Have you ever tried Bikram yoga? It sounds wonderful. Namaste& I love you!
No problem, your blog is lovely! And thank you so much for your kind, heartfelt words; they’re greatly appreciated <3
I have to admit I’m not 100% vegan and I really don’t like to put any labels on myself (or others, for that matter), but I can definitely say I’ve been the “most vegan” I’ve ever been. I just feel better when consuming mostly raw, high vibrational foods. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy some cooked food (Indian food is my weakness), but I try to keep the cooked things very simple and “gently cooked/steamed”, such as veggies, quinoa, legumes, and on rare occasions a piece of salmon or sashimi. Also, what helps me eat a highly raw diet is I like to make hot tonics and teas to satisfy my desire for heat, especially during the colder months.
As for yoga, my favorite to practice is power yoga, and the one I look up to most is the wonderful and beautiful, Meghan Currie! She’s absolutely amazing! I also really love Briohny Smyth!
When it comes to practice, I just go with the flow of things and play a lot :)
Much love, light and blessings to you, sweet one!
